Drest Secures £15 Million in Funding for Drest 2.0 Development

Drest, the luxury fashion and beauty gaming app, has secured an additional £15 million in funding as it pursues the development and launch of Drest 2.0. Boasting a dedicated user base of fashion-conscious individuals, the app aims to provide an enjoyable and challenging experience while also meeting users’ fashion needs. The upcoming version, which will be available worldwide, will introduce new features and establish itself as the leading creative platform for fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle gamification.

Alongside the advancement of Drest 2.0, the company has plans to expand its influence through the developer ecosystem, marketing channels, and strategic revenue streams. It also seeks to build upon the growth of its user base and explore the creation of additional games within the web3 and lifestyle sectors.

Graham Edwards, co-founder and co-chair of Drest, contributed to the funding round through his family office, as did fellow founder and chair Lucy Yeomans. CEO Lisa Bridgett emphasized that securing this funding is proof of the company’s ability to deliver products and generate ideas in a challenging market. Bridgett is determined to elevate the business to new heights, offering users a unique experience while retaining the core elements of the game. She also noted the growing interest in gaming from luxury fashion and lifestyle industries and expressed confidence in Drest’s ability to cater to this demand.

Launched four years ago, Drest has experienced remarkable growth, with its user base surpassing triple digits. The app allows players to become virtual fashion stylists, collaborating with over 260 luxury brands such as Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Fendi, Cartier, and Christian Louboutin. Merging the realms of luxury fashion, beauty, and lifestyle with the metaverse’s possibilities, Drest provides players the opportunity to showcase and enhance their styling skills using the latest collections to dress hyper-realistic avatars. The app also serves as a platform for user-generated content, presenting a digital fashion assortment from Farfetch and direct brands, enabling players to discover, style, and shop the latest collections. By combining gamification with brand marketing opportunities, Drest enables stakeholders to engage with new and highly-engaged audiences.

The eagerly anticipated global launch of Drest 2.0 is scheduled for the coming year. Additionally, the partnership with Farfetch allows players to translate their virtual game purchases into tangible acquisitions. This connection to the gaming industry is highly advantageous, given that global mobile gaming revenues reached $92 billion in the previous year. The gaming market as a whole is valued at over $184 billion and is projected to reach $221 billion by 2025.

With its latest funding round, Drest is well-positioned to sustain its growth and solidify its position as a trailblazer in the intersection of fashion and gaming. As the demand for immersive experiences and unique digital platforms continues to rise, Drest aims to captivate users with its innovative approach, establishing itself as the go-to destination for fashion enthusiasts in the digital realm.
