Dior to Open New Store in Lisbon

Dior, the iconic Parisian luxury brand, is set to make its debut in the Portuguese market with the opening of a new store in Lisbon. The store, located in the historic Alegria One building on the renowned Avenida da Liberdade, is expected to open later this year.

The Alegria One building, known for its 19th century architectural splendor, has a rich history. It was previously the residence of the Keil family before being acquired by the Companhia de Seguros Ultramarina in 1954. In 2007, real estate developer and manager EastBanc took ownership of the building and is currently overseeing its renovation alongside acclaimed architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. With a total area of 2800 square meters spread over seven floors, the building combines office spaces and retail outlets that cater to the latest market trends.

The new Dior store will occupy three floors, covering a total area of 1050 square meters. This strategic location and ample space will enable Dior to showcase its wide range of luxury goods and provide customers with a premium shopping experience. This expansion into Portugal highlights Dior’s commitment to reaching new markets and offering its unparalleled craftsmanship and style to a wider audience.

This announcement comes at an exciting time for the Dior brand, as Delphine Arnault, daughter of Bernard Arnault, the head of luxury conglomerate LVMH, has recently been appointed CEO of Maison Christian Dior. This appointment reflects the ongoing investment and dedication of LVMH towards the growth and success of the Dior brand.

Tiago Eiró, CEO of EastBanc Portugal, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming store opening, stating that it will contribute to the revitalization and dynamism of Lisbon. Eiró further emphasized, “We are very pleased with Alegria One and, in particular, that its unique commercial space has been chosen for the opening of the first Dior store in our country.” Both Dior and EastBanc see great potential in the Portuguese market and are excited to bring the brand’s elegance and sophistication to the discerning clientele in Lisbon.

As Dior enters Portugal, it joins other LVMH-owned luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Givenchy, and Celine. With its illustrious history, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless designs, Dior is poised to leave a lasting impression on the Portuguese fashion scene. Customers in Lisbon can anticipate firsthand experiences with the brand’s iconic products and immerse themselves in the world of Dior’s exquisite haute couture and ready-to-wear collections.

In conclusion, Dior’s decision to establish a presence in Portugal exemplifies the brand’s global appeal and its dedication to expanding its market reach. The Alegria One building in Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade provides a perfect setting for Dior’s entry into the Portuguese market, complementing its historical significance with modern amenities. With Delphine Arnault leading the brand to new horizons, the opening of this store signifies an exciting new chapter in Dior’s illustrious legacy. Portuguese fashion enthusiasts now have a new luxury shopping destination and the opportunity to indulge in the unparalleled elegance of Dior.
