Dior Homme Creates Costumes for BTS’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour

Dior Homme, the luxury fashion house, is breaking new ground by creating costumes for the upcoming tour of South Korean group BTS. With their immense popularity and global reach, BTS has sold over 10 million albums and recently won Best Group and Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, highlighting their influence on social media and solidifying their position as a prominent force in the K-Pop music phenomenon.

Recognizing the success and fashion-forward nature of BTS, Dior’s Artistic Director Kim Jones expressed his admiration for the group, stating, “I love BTS because they are really great guys and also super into fashion. Everyone I know is kind of crazy about them!”

For BTS’s new tour, titled Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, Kim Jones has crafted a series of outfits that will dress the seven members on stage. The challenge lies in creating a unified look that still respects each member’s individuality. While details about these outfits are scarce, Kim Jones teased fans with a black and white sketch of the silhouettes on his Instagram account. The designs appear to incorporate elements such as bomber jackets, cargo pants, crossbody saddle bags, harnesses, and high-top sneakers, giving a futuristic twist to military-inspired styles seen in his Pre-Fall 2019 collection. Moreover, the capsule collection pays homage to BTS’s passionate fanbase, lovingly known as the BTS ARMY.

Fans will have the opportunity to see the costumes firsthand starting from tomorrow’s tour date in Los Angeles. The Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour consists of ten dates in eight destinations, including a highly anticipated performance in Paris on June 7 at the iconic Stade de France. This groundbreaking collaboration marks the first time Dior has created stage outfits for a male pop music group. This partnership not only showcases Dior’s innovation and versatility but also provides the fashion house with valuable international exposure, particularly among Generation Z and Millennials. These demographics are forecasted to comprise fifty percent of luxury buyers by 2025.
