Dior Collaborates with IDK for No Label Academy Project at Harvard

In a groundbreaking collaboration, the iconic French fashion house, Dior, has joined forces with Anglo-American artist IDK for a unique project taking place at the prestigious Harvard School of Engineering and the Harvard Museum of Arts. This exciting partnership coincides with the launch of the No Label Academy, an initiative dedicated to providing music education, and seeks to offer students a fashionable wardrobe option.

Rapper and producer, IDK (also known as Jason Mills), teamed up with Kim Jones, the Artistic Director of Dior’s menswear collections, to design a series of garments inspired by Harvard University’s colors and rich traditions. These exclusive pieces feature a crest symbolizing the collaboration, driven by the non-profit organization No Label.

The primary goal of this project goes beyond providing students of the No Label Academy with a stylish uniform. It also aims to showcase that underrepresented groups have a place at esteemed institutions like Harvard. IDK, who is also a professor at the academy, emphasized the significance of this initiative in overcoming the obstacles faced by people of color striving to study at top universities.

Supported by renowned sportswear brands like Nike, Jordan, and Converse, the No Label Academy currently welcomes approximately twenty students from diverse backgrounds. These students have the opportunity to participate in a free ten-day intensive training program, which could potentially expand to other higher education institutions in the future.

The collaboration between Dior and IDK not only demonstrates their commitment to inclusivity, but also highlights the influential role fashion and art play in fostering a sense of belonging and representation for marginalized communities. By merging their creative talents, Dior and IDK aim to pave the way for greater diversity in both academia and the fashion industry.
