Dior Announces Cruise Show in Marrakech

Dior has recently announced its decision to host its cruise show in the enchanting city of Marrakech, a departure from their previous show locations. Scheduled for April 29, the Dior cruise 2020 catwalk show will take place against the stunning backdrop of the Moroccan imperial city. This choice was officially confirmed by a spokesperson for the esteemed fashion house, who disclosed that Marrakech has been selected as the next destination following previous shows held in Chantilly and Calabasas.

The selection of Marrakech as the venue for the cruise show has raised eyebrows among industry insiders, given the city’s close ties to Dior’s rival, Yves Saint Laurent. Saint Laurent, renowned for his fondness for Marrakech, had his own private riad and Majorelle Gardens in the city, where the illustrious Yves Saint Laurent Museum currently stands. This intriguing connection only serves to heighten the significance of Dior’s decision to bring their show to a city so deeply associated with another fashion luminary.

In recent times, Dior has established a custom of introducing their cruise collections in extraordinary and captivating locales. From the opulence of Blenheim Palace to the raw beauty of Calabasas, each setting has infused a unique flavor into the designs that grace the runway. Marrakech, with its rich cultural heritage and vibrant ambience, is poised to offer a fitting stage for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s latest creations.

The Marrakech show will herald the commencement of the cruise season in late April, with other prominent fashion houses like Chanel, Prada, and Louis Vuitton preparing to unveil their own resort collections. As the fashion world gears up for a flurry of shows and presentations, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Marrakech as Dior commands the spotlight in this captivating city.
