Dior and Harrods Collaborate for ‘The Fabulous World of Dior’

The renowned fashion house, Dior, will bring its enchanting touch to Harrods department store this Christmas season. In a groundbreaking move, Harrods has enlisted Dior to take charge of the store’s festive decorations and various projects, resulting in a grand operation titled “The Fabulous World of Dior.” From November 10th to January 3rd, 2023, visitors to Harrods will be treated to a unique and mesmerizing display, showcasing Christmas through the lens of Dior.

This collaboration between Harrods and Dior marks a significant milestone in their longstanding partnership of over 70 years. Harrods, known for its past successful hosting of the Jimmy Choo cafe during the summer, is now seeking to further solidify its relationship with Dior by entrusting them with the transformation of their establishment this holiday season.

“The Fabulous World of Dior” project will revolve around reimagining the iconic store windows, turning them into living, artistic masterpieces that epitomize the different aspects of the Dior house. These breathtaking window displays will highlight the fashion, beauty, perfumes, and lifestyle departments, captivating passersby with their beauty. Additionally, a remarkable installation featuring the compass rose, one of Christian Dior’s cherished symbols, will grace the store, further enhancing the overall splendor.

While the exterior decorations are poised to captivate the attention of onlookers with their mesmerizing light displays, Dior plans to extend the Christmas narrative within the department store itself. Two pop-up spaces will offer shoppers a specially curated selection of Dior items exclusive to Harrods. Additionally, a temporary café and a Dior micro-village will provide an immersive experience for visitors.

It is noteworthy that visitors can book their visits through a dedicated platform, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience. These visits will incorporate immersive video projections and miniature replicas of significant Dior locations, including the brand’s flagship store in Paris, Christian Dior’s childhood home in Granville, and the Château de La Colle Noire.

This collaboration between Dior and Harrods is not only a testament to their enduring relationship but also a strategically sound move for Dior. The Christmas season is a pivotal time for fashion houses, and this endeavor is likely to enhance the reputation and sales of the iconic Parisian brand.
