Designer Outlet Cotswolds Unveiled in UK Market

Plans have been unveiled for an upcoming designer outlet in the charming Cotswolds, representing the inaugural foray of European outlet operator Ros Retail Outlet Shopping into the UK market. Taking shape at the junction of the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire, the outlet village will cover an expansive 195,000 sq ft area and is a joint venture between Ros Retail Outlet Shopping and Cheltenham-based developer Robert Hitchins Ltd.

This ambitious project will be carried out in two phases, with approximately 90 retail units that will showcase a diverse range of trendy brands in fashion, athleisure, footwear, and lifestyle products. In addition to the retail offerings, the outlet will also house a selection of top-notch restaurants and cafes to enhance the overall shopping experience for visitors.

Simon Tothill, the property & development director at Robert Hitchins Ltd, highlighted his excitement for the project, emphasizing that the Designer Outlet Cotswolds will seamlessly blend with the Cotswolds’ rich historical architecture and materials. The vision is to create a cutting-edge retail hub with flexible units designed to cater to the preferences of modern shoppers and diners, ultimately providing a comfortable and welcoming ambiance that complements the Cotswolds’ unique charm.

Benefitting from its prime location, the outlet is set to draw a significant local customer base, with over 9.8 million residents living within a 90-minute drive and a whopping 23 million tourists flocking to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty each year. Despite challenges posed by issues like CVAs and profit warnings in the retail sector, the promising prospects have spurred Ros Retail Outlet Shopping to make a bold investment in the UK market.

Co-founder and managing director of Ros Retail Outlet Shopping, Thomas Reichenauer, underscored the company’s confidence in the outlet shopping growth potential in the UK. Armed with a successful track record in managing designer outlets throughout Europe, Ros Retail Outlet Shopping sees a plethora of opportunities for expansion in the dynamic UK market.

Construction on the Designer Outlet Cotswolds is slated to kick off in autumn 2020, with the initial phase expected to debut towards the end of 2021. This development signals a significant stride in the evolution of outlet shopping in the UK, promising a distinctive and riveting retail experience nestled within the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds.
