Derek Lam 10 Crosby Expands into Rental Market

Derek Lam 10 Crosby, the sophisticated and effortless advanced contemporary line, is venturing into the rental market with a bold move. Teaming up with CaaStle, a leading B2B rental platform, the brand is introducing a new option called ‘Borrow’, allowing customers to rent and wear current garments from their collection.

To access the ‘Borrow’ service, customers can conveniently visit Derek Lam’s website and click on the ‘Borrow’ button. Alternatively, they can utilize rental services powered by CaaStle. The rental period is prepaid, and at the end of this period, customers have the flexibility to return the items, extend the rental with a daily fee, or purchase the item at a discounted price.

The Borrow program showcases selected styles from Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s new spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection, which draws inspiration from the elegance of Morocco, as well as pieces from their pre-spring, denim, and essentials collections. This assortment will be regularly updated to reflect the current collection and season.

Dan Shamdasani, CEO of Public Clothing Company, the owner of Derek Lam 10 Crosby, expressed enthusiasm about this new venture. He believes that the partnership with CaaStle perfectly aligns with the brand’s growth strategy, enabling them to expand their direct-to-consumer business and reach a younger and more aspirational customer base.

Aside from CaaStle, Derek Lam 10 Crosby has also collaborated with ModLux.Rent, the first-ever apparel subscription service by Modern Luxury Media. This collaboration will further enhance access to Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s clothing and introduce the brand to a wider customer base.

Christine Hunsicker, CEO of CaaStle, highlighted the advantages of this partnership. She explained that after the initial rental transaction, the inventory will flow into CaaStle’s network, reaching over 16 million affluent consumers. This exposure will significantly boost the brand’s visibility and contribute to its overall growth.

Since its launch in 2011, Derek Lam 10 Crosby has been making a mark in the fashion industry with its modern and feminine designs, garnering a loyal following. The acquisition by Public Clothing Company in 2020 has propelled its growth by introducing new retail partnerships and business models.

Overall, Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s expansion into the rental market is a strategic move. By offering customers the option to rent their favorite pieces, the brand is embracing the circular economy and creating fresh opportunities for customers to experience their collections. With the support of CaaStle and Modern Luxury Media, Derek Lam 10 Crosby is set to make a significant impact in the rental industry.
