Delvaux’s Triumphant Return to Paris with Unique Presentation

Delvaux, the renowned luxury leather goods house founded in Brussels in 1829, made a triumphant return to the fashion capital of Paris with its unique presentation this season. After a two-year hiatus, the brand hosted its own pop-up club on the Left Bank, treating guests to a remarkable experience in a stunning mansion on Boulevard de La Tour-Maubourg.

The pop-up club, lovingly referred to as a “townhouse” by CEO Jean-Marc Loubier, was an exquisite display of elegance and sophistication. As guests arrived, they were greeted with glasses of Louis Roederer champagne, setting the tone for a luxurious evening. The space was meticulously decorated, exuding a chic ambiance that perfectly complemented the brand’s aesthetic.

One of the standout features of the townhouse was the collaboration with designer Maria Pergay. Known for her innovative use of stainless steel, Pergay brought in museum-quality furnishings by iconic French creators, adding an extra layer of artistry to the event. Her renowned works, such as the Flying Carpet daybed and the Ring chair, displayed a unique blend of finesse and dominance that complemented Delvaux’s latest designs.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Delvaux’s latest collection, which showcased hyper-attractive designs that left a lasting impression. One particularly notable piece was the Pin bag, a playful bucket-shaped bag that celebrated its 50th anniversary. Crafted in Taurillon leather with intricate perforations, the Pin bag embodied a weightless functionality that breathed new life into this historic design. Additionally, Delvaux introduced an updated version of its classic Brilliant handbag, skillfully incorporating the novel Leather D leatherwork technique in a mesmerizing hazel-palette leather.

This presentation marked a significant moment for Delvaux, as it was the first since the brand was acquired by Swiss-based luxury conglomerate Richemont and saw the return of Jean-Marc Loubier as CEO. Loubier, known for his previous tenure as CEO, where he adorned Delvaux’s flagships in fashion capitals with rare modern and classical furniture and mirrors, is already making waves in the brand’s communications strategy. For its upcoming campaign, Delvaux enlisted the acclaimed South African photographer Koto Bolofo, who captured striking portraits of unique women that beautifully captured the essence of the brand. Among the subjects were Lily McMenamy, an American-born English model and actress; Hannah O’Neill, a premiere danseuse of the Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris from New Zealand; and Nyasha Matonhodze, a Zimbabwean-British fashion model and activist.

With its innovative presentation and captivating designs, Delvaux continues to solidify its position as a leading luxury brand in the leather goods industry. The brand’s unwavering focus on craftsmanship, heritage, and collaborations with notable designers and artists sets it apart in the fashion world. Delvaux’s future looks promising as it continues to redefine luxury and captivate fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
