Delvaux Opens New Boutique in Galerie du Palais Royal, Paris

Delvaux, one of the oldest leather goods houses in the world, has recently opened a new boutique in the Galerie du Palais Royal in Paris. This historic location will provide the perfect setting to showcase the brand’s most iconic handbag models.

Established in 1829, Delvaux has become a major player in the luxury leather goods industry. With the opening of its new store in the renowned Galerie du Palais Royal, the brand further solidifies its presence in the Parisian retail landscape.

The boutique has been thoughtfully designed by Martine Feipel and Jean Bechameil, two visual artists from Luxembourg who were tasked with reimagining the brand’s retail identity. Visitors to the store will be greeted by a sleek and elegant environment that pays homage to classicism.

The Galerie du Palais Royal holds significant historical importance, having been owned by just three individuals prior to Delvaux. The previous owners utilized the space for engraving activities, with one even serving as the official engraver for Napoleon I. Delvaux has acquired the artwork associated with this history and showcases it in the boutique.

While infusing its signature style, Delvaux aimed to preserve the identity of the location. The store retains nineteenth-century mosaics and a cast iron staircase from the Lumière Brothers’ workshops, adding to its charm and allure.

At the new boutique, Delvaux will feature its latest collections as well as its iconic models. These handbags are crafted with meticulous attention to detail in the brand’s workshops in both Belgium and France, utilizing artisanal and manual production processes.

Among the notable handbags showcased at the boutique are the Le Brillant bags, which made their debut in 1958, the Le Tempête bags from 1967, the Le Pin bags introduced in 1972, and the Le Madame bags launched in 1977. These timelessly stylish pieces epitomize the brand’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Delvaux’s new Parisian boutique is conveniently located at 151-154 Galerie de Valois, in the first arrondissement of Paris. It provides a flagship store for the brand’s coveted handbags, ensuring that Delvaux continues to be a destination for luxury leather goods enthusiasts.
