Delpozo Seeks Investor for Growth

Delpozo, the renowned Spanish prêt-à-couture brand recognized for its whimsical and structural designs, is actively seeking an investor to fuel its growth. Perfumes y Diseño, the group that has held ownership of Delpozo since 2011, is open to selling either a majority or minority stake in the business. This decision coincides with the appointment of Lutz Huelle as the brand’s new creative director, taking over from Josep Font.

Pedro Trólez, the president of Perfumes y Diseño, emphasized the importance of finding a highly engaged partner with a deep fashion background who shares a passion for advancing the brand. While Perfumes y Diseño excels in fragrances, they aim to collaborate with a partner who can inject fresh fashion perspectives into Delpozo’s operations.

Under the ownership of Perfumes y Diseño, Delpozo experienced significant growth and success. A rebranding from ‘Jesús del Pozo’ to ‘Delpozo’ was implemented, along with a new creative direction spearheaded by Josep Font. With Font’s departure in 2018, the brand entered a new phase overseen by creative director Lutz Huelle.

Huelle’s vision for Delpozo involves offering more accessible price points, diversifying the business model, and expanding into new product categories like eyewear and fragrances. The brand’s inaugural collection under Huelle’s leadership is set to be unveiled at London Fashion Week in September.

As part of its strategic growth initiatives, Delpozo has made key decisions to bolster its brand presence and penetrate new markets. Management of its accessories line is now handled by Italy’s Massimo Bonini, while the Riccardo Grassi showroom oversees wholesale activities. Furthermore, the brand has shifted some production operations to Italy to support its expansion endeavors.

In 2019, Delpozo is targeting revenues of €10 million, leveraging its success in regions like the Middle East and South Korea. Presently, the brand operates in 34 markets through 80 store locations, including flagship boutiques in Madrid, London, and Dubai. These strategic actions are designed to propel Delpozo towards sustainable growth and prosperity in the competitive luxury fashion landscape.
