Dates Announced for London Fashion Week 2022

The British Fashion Council (BFC) recently announced the dates for London Fashion Week (LFW) in 2022. Sponsored by Clearpay, the highly anticipated event will take place on February 18-22 and September 16-20, with an additional menswear edition scheduled for June 11-13. What makes these upcoming LFWs even more special is the fact that they will showcase both women’s and menswear collections, a departure from previous years.

One notable change this year is the cancellation of the January menswear edition. The decision to forgo this event was prompted by the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. With the recent announcement of additional Covid restrictions in England, it seems prudent to prioritize the safety and well-being of all the professionals and attendees in the fashion industry.

Last year, during the height of the pandemic, LFW pivoted to a fully digital format. However, this September, the event successfully embraced a hybrid approach, incorporating both physical and digital elements. The upcoming February edition is expected to follow suit, offering catwalk shows, presentations, appointments, and a plethora of events scattered throughout the vibrant city of London. Additionally, LFW’s digital platform, which provides year-round access to collections for retailers, media, and consumers, will continue to be updated with the latest content.

London Fashion Week has always been a pivotal event in the fashion industry, celebrating the artistic ingenuity and forward-thinking designs of British fashion designers. Despite the challenges and setbacks caused by the pandemic, the BFC remains resolute in its mission to adapt and find innovative ways to present collections and engage with a global audience. The upcoming LFW in 2022 is set to be yet another exhilarating and inspiring showcase of talent, pushing boundaries, setting trends, and shaping the future of fashion.
