Daniela Riccardi Resigns from Kering’s Board of Directors

Daniela Riccardi, who had been serving on the board of directors at Kering, has recently resigned from her position. The announcement came following the company’s annual general meeting on April 27. Riccardi’s mandate had been renewed the previous year and was set to continue until 2026. However, the reasons for her departure have not been disclosed.

Kering has stated that the Appointments and Governance committee will now assess how to replace Riccardi and begin the succession process in the coming weeks. Despite stepping down from the board, Riccardi is expected to remain involved in Kering’s Sustainable Development committee.

Riccardi, who is fluent in several languages including French, English, Spanish, and Italian, joined Kering’s board in 2014, contributing her extensive managerial experience to the luxury group. François-Henri Pinault, the CEO of Kering, and the other members of the board expressed their gratitude to Riccardi for her dedication and involvement.

Riccardi’s professional journey began after she graduated in political science and international relations from the University of Rome La Sapienza. She then spent an impressive 25 years at Procter & Gamble, a major US consumer goods multinational, holding various international management positions. She worked extensively in Latin American markets before becoming the vice-president of Eastern Europe, based in Moscow. Later, she took on the role of president of Procter & Gamble Greater China, based in Guangzhou.

In 2010, Riccardi made the transition to the fashion industry, taking on the position of CEO at Diesel. She became the first external manager to lead the renowned jeans label, succeeding its founder, Renzo Rosso. After three years at Diesel, she moved on to become the CEO of Baccarat, a prestigious crystalware producer, where she remained for seven years. Most recently, in 2020, she joined Moleskine as the managing director.

Although Riccardi’s departure from Kering’s board of directors represents the end of a chapter, her vast experience and expertise will continue to be highly valued. Her ongoing role in Kering’s Sustainable Development committee ensures that her contributions to the company’s sustainability initiatives will persist. The search for her replacement will be carried out in the coming weeks, as Kering remains committed to maintaining a strong and diverse board of directors.
