Daniel Grieder appointed as CEO of Hugo Boss

Former Tommy Hilfiger executive Daniel Grieder has been appointed as the upcoming CEO of German luxury fashion brand Hugo Boss, taking over from current CEO Mark Langer. Grieder, who previously served as the CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global & PVH Europe, is scheduled to assume his new role on June 1, 2021.

Mark Langer, who has led Hugo Boss since May 2016, will officially step down on September 30, 2020. In the period leading up to Grieder’s official commencement, Hugo Boss’s finance chief Yves Mueller will act as the interim spokesman for the management board.

The choice to bring Grieder on board was welcomed wholeheartedly by Hugo Boss Supervisory Board Chairman Hermann Waldemer, who highlighted Grieder’s extensive international proficiency, charm, and wealth of experience in the fashion industry. Waldemer expressed his belief in Grieder’s capabilities to steer Hugo Boss towards increased sales and profits while enhancing the brand’s attractiveness to consumers.

After engaging in discussions with Grieder earlier in the month, Hugo Boss ultimately concluded that he was the ideal candidate for the CEO role. With Grieder’s appointment announced, Hugo Boss anticipates a fresh era under his guidance, striving for growth and innovation amid the competitive landscape of the fashion industry.
