Cool T.M. and Rains steal the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week

Cool T.M. and Rains stole the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week with their bold and inventive designs. Cool T.M., a brand that expertly blends couture, streetwear, and irony, has rapidly gained popularity since its launch. Founder Thomas Monet, who has over 15 years of experience in the luxury industry, successfully introduced the brand just before the onset of the pandemic. The brand’s playful and irreverent approach has resonated with audiences, leading to commercial success.

Monet, the sole French finalist for this year’s Andam Prize, joined the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s Sphère showroom this season. In a setting reminiscent of an ’80s resort but with a twist, Cool T.M. unveiled a vibrant Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The collection showcased a range of captivating looks, from oversized streetwear sweaters to rhinestone-adorned plaid dark velvet maxi-suits. Cool T.M. offers a fusion of streetwear and couture pieces, with prices ranging from €190 to €1190.

Cool T.M.’s designs bring together different genres and styles in a nonsensical yet captivating manner. Monet’s aim is to infuse “lightness and benevolence” into the fashion industry and refocus attention on the individual. The brand encourages people to express themselves and find joy in their clothing choices. The designs draw inspiration from people’s personalities, and all collections are meticulously designed and produced in France, Italy, and Portugal.

Meanwhile, Rains, another prominent brand, unveiled its first-ever summer fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. Established in 2012, Rains is renowned for its rainwear and down jackets. With its summer collection titled “Connect,” the brand ventured into new territories. The fashion show took place in a vast industrial warehouse, where models flaunted a colorful and optimistic sci-fi-inspired collection.

The collection comprised a mix of outerwear, knee-length shorts, lightweight nylon windbreakers, and fleece jackets paired with relaxed-fit trousers. The color palette spanned from gold and silver to aqua green, electric blue, and mimosa yellow. Accessories and bags played a prominent role, signaling the brand’s aspirations to expand in this category. The collection’s standout piece was a cap-cape available in various sizes, adding an intriguing touch to the ensembles. Rains prioritized lightweight and breathable materials for the summer collection, staying true to the brand’s essence.

Both Cool T.M. and Rains have made a significant impression on buyers and retailers. Cool T.M. has enticed approximately 40 clients, including esteemed boutiques like Joyce and 10 Corso Como. Rains, on the other hand, is gaining a strong foothold in the French market and recently inaugurated a showroom in Paris’ Marais district. With their innovative designs and distinctive brand identities, Cool T.M. and Rains are undeniably two brands to closely monitor in the dynamic fashion industry.
