Converse Collaborates with Martine Ali, Isabel Marant, and Feng Chen Wang to Modernize Chuck Taylor All Star Sneaker

Converse, the American brand famous for its Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker, has joined forces with three innovative minds to give a modern twist to the iconic shoe. As a part of the Nike group, Converse has partnered with Martine Ali, a jewelry and accessory designer based in Brooklyn, Isabel Marant, a well-known French fashion designer, and Feng Chen Wang, a Chinese fashion label based in London.

Martine Ali took the lead in introducing the collaboration with her design called the Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge. This design draws inspiration from the hip-hop culture of the late ’90s and early 2000s, featuring an EVA foam wedge sole and an asymmetrical square toe. The Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge comes in two styles, one with gaiters and one without, taking cues from thigh-high boots.

The Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge is available for purchase at a price of 160 euros on Converse.com and select retailers. This collaboration seamlessly combines streetwear and high fashion, merging Ali’s unique design aesthetic with the well-known Chuck Taylor silhouette.

Aside from Martine Ali’s design, fans can anticipate the upcoming creations by Isabel Marant and Feng Chen Wang in early 2024. Isabel Marant, known for her effortlessly chic designs, is a highly respected French fashion designer. Feng Chen Wang, who recently made waves with her collaboration with Crocs, is a Chinese designer based in London.

The partnership between Converse and these three talented designers showcases the brand’s dedication to innovation and creativity. By collaborating with individuals who bring their distinct perspectives and design sensibilities, Converse is able to breathe new life into their beloved Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker.

With Martine Ali’s Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge already available and more exciting designs on the horizon, Converse enthusiasts can expect a fresh take on this timeless classic. Whether you have a preference for streetwear, high fashion, or both, this collaboration promises something for everyone. Be sure to stay tuned for the unveiling of Isabel Marant’s and Feng Chen Wang’s designs in the coming year.
