Colette Mon Amour: The Documentary

French concept store Colette, known for its groundbreaking approach to retail, is making a comeback in the form of a documentary, two years after closing its doors on the Rue Saint-Honore in Paris. The store was a hotspot for streetwear enthusiasts and fashion icons, with celebrities like Pharrell Williams and Karl Lagerfeld as dedicated fans. Despite its success, Colette ceased operations in 2017 after a successful two-decade run.

The documentary, “Colette Mon Amour,” will give viewers a peek into the final six months of Colette’s existence, starting with the announcement of its closure. Founder Colette Roussaux and her daughter Sarah Andelman, who was the head buyer and creative director, will be prominently featured. Directed by Hugues Lawson-Body, the film will delve into Colette’s history over the past twenty years, with appearances from industry giants like Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams.

Viewers can also anticipate exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from Colette’s final events, including the transformative Saint Laurent guest curation that revamped the store’s first floor in just two days. Other notable figures from the fashion world, such as Alexandre de Betak, Guillaume Henry, and LVMH prize-winner Masayuki Ino, will also make appearances.

While an official release date has not been announced, the documentary’s Instagram account hinted at a 2020 premiere. A sneak peek was recently shared with friends and family at a private screening in Paris, generating excitement for the forthcoming project. Keep an eye out for updates on the release of “Colette Mon Amour,” offering an intimate look into the legacy of one of fashion’s most iconic concept stores.
