Colette, the renowned Parisian concept store that closed down in 2017, is making a comeback in a temporary form. A new documentary called “Colette, Mon Amour” is set to be released, offering an intimate look into the final six months of the iconic store’s existence on 213 rue Saint Honoré. Directed by Hugues Lawson-Body, the film captures the announcement of founder Colette Rousseaux’s retirement, the store’s collaboration with Saint Laurent, and ultimately, its closure.
Beginning on February 26, the documentary will premiere at the MK2 Beaubourg cinema in Paris, alongside a series of conferences. These conferences, running until March 1, will feature key figures from the Colette team, including Colette Rousseaux’s daughter and the boutique’s artistic director and buyer, Sarah Andelman, as well as former public relations representative Guillaume Salmon.
In addition to the film release, Colette Rousseaux and Sarah Andelman have set up a temporary pop-up store at Maison Kitsuné in the Tuileries district, just a short distance from their former boutique. From February 24 to March 4, visitors can explore a curated selection of unique items at the pop-up, including limited edition Off-White sunglasses, artwork by various artists, collaborative t-shirts, hoodies, bags with Kitsuné, and even branded cookies. This pop-up store provides an opportunity for visitors to once again immerse themselves in the distinctive curation of Colette for a few days.
For those interested in experiencing the “Colette Mon Amour” selection, the pop-up can be found at Maison Kitsuné, located at 2 rue du 29 Juillet in Paris 1er, from February 24 to March 4, 2020.
