Christian Louboutin Reopens Renovated Boutique in Paris

Christian Louboutin, the renowned luxury shoe brand, has recently reopened its historical boutique in Paris following an extensive renovation. Situated at number 19 on rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, next to the Véro-Dodat covered shopping arcade in Paris’ central first arrondissement, this store holds great significance as the original point of sale for the brand. Initially established in 1991, the women’s accessories boutique temporarily closed its doors in February to undergo a complete makeover. Now, it has reopened with a fresh new look, while the men’s boutique at number 17 on the same street is scheduled for a renovation project beginning in June.

Throughout the redesign process, Christian Louboutin has worked diligently to preserve the boutique’s iconic features. These include the red carpet, symbolizing the brand’s signature scarlet soles found on their famous Louboutin heels, as well as ornamental cubbies inspired by the fascinating architecture of the Véro-Dodat covered arcade. The boutique’s interior is thoughtfully curated to reflect the textures and colors reminiscent of the brand’s footwear collections. Moreover, Christian Louboutin has strived to cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere, akin to that of a cozy living room.

To enhance the boutique’s interior, Christian Louboutin collaborated with two artists. Elisabeth Garouste contributed her expertise to the creation of unique furniture pieces, while Louis Barthélemy designed a captivating two-meter diameter round textile appliqué named “khayamiya.” This artwork showcases captivating designs inspired by ancient Egypt, harmonizing with the aesthetics of Louboutin’s footwear.

In addition to the recent renovation, Christian Louboutin made the decision to close its store at 68 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré last year, opting for a new location near Rue Cambon and Place Vendôme. With the reopening of the historic boutique, the brand now has three stores in Paris, including the newly renovated boutique, as well as shop-in-shops within renowned department stores Printemps and Bon Marché. Furthermore, Christian Louboutin products are widely available in approximately 150 stores across the globe.
