Chanel Unveils First Episode of Its New Podcast Series

In preparation for the highly-anticipated Chanel Fall/Winter 2019 show, Chanel has unveiled the first episode of its new podcast series. This exciting content features a one-on-one conversation with the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.

Recorded in December 2018 after the presentation of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, this episode is conducted in English by Tyler Brûlé, editor-in-chief of Monocle magazine. Lagerfeld, who was Chanel’s artistic director for an impressive 35 years, passed away on February 19th. In this podcast episode, Lagerfeld reflects on his creative vision for preserving artisanal craftsmanship while embracing innovation. He also discusses his various activities and collaborations, shedding light on the unique character of the Chanel house. Lagerfeld humorously refers to it as a combination of “the past of Chanel and the present of me!”.

As an introduction to the new season of 3.55, Chanel’s fashion and beauty podcast launched in late 2017, this 45-minute conversation serves as a captivating sneak peek. The upcoming episodes of “Métier Class by Chanel” will feature Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel’s fashion division, Pharrell Williams, brand ambassador for Chanel and creator of an upcoming capsule collection, and Amanda Harlech, a consultant often seen in recent documentaries focused on Lagerfeld.

For those interested, the podcast series is available on Apple Podcasts. Chanel’s “Métier Class” follows in the footsteps of previous thought-provoking themes such as “The First Times”, “Chanel at the Opera”, and “Handbag Stories”.
