The brand will unveil its 2022/23 Cruise collection in a live fashion show on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in the principality. Monaco holds a special significance for Chanel, as it was the site where Gabrielle Chanel constructed her villa, La Pausa, in 1929. Additionally, it was a favored summer residence for Karl Lagerfeld, who resided at La Vigie from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.
While the specific location of the show has not yet been disclosed, Karl’s villa, La Vigie, offers a picturesque view of La Pausa from its position on Monaco’s eastern promontory. This upcoming event in Monaco will further solidify Chanel’s ties with the principality, evident through its association with Charlotte Casiraghi. Casiraghi, who has been an ambassador and spokesperson for Chanel since 2021, is also the president and founder of the Monaco Philosophical Meetings and the godmother of the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo.
