Chanel, Fendi, and Karl Lagerfeld Joint Tribute

Chanel, Fendi, and Karl Lagerfeld are coming together to organize a joint tribute in honor of their late Creative Director. Taking place on June 20th in Paris, this special evening will celebrate the life and legacy of Lagerfeld, who passed away on February 19th.

After a private funeral and emotional fashion shows paying tribute to Lagerfeld, this upcoming event will serve as a public commemoration held in one of the designer’s favorite venues, the Grand Palais. Known for orchestrating breathtaking shows for Chanel, the Grand Palais holds significant meaning in Lagerfeld’s career. The tribute will be overseen by Robert Carsen, a Canadian stage director.

Although specific details about the tribute have yet to be revealed, Carsen mentioned in an interview with WWD magazine that there will be a triptych of giant screens showcasing never-before-seen retrospective images and testimonials from Lagerfeld’s collaborators. Additionally, the iconic glass roof of the Grand Palais will be transformed to host a range of happenings, concerts, and performances from various artistic disciplines.

Named “Karl is Forever,” this event will coincide with the Spring-Summer 2020 Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. It is expected to welcome approximately 2,500 carefully selected guests, who will gather to pay homage to the legendary designer and his extraordinary contributions to the fashion industry.
