Chanel Appoints Emmanuelle Walle as Director of International Press Relations and Fashion Public Relations

Chanel made a significant announcement recently, revealing their new director of international press relations and fashion public relations. Emmanuelle Walle has been appointed to this prestigious role, marking a noteworthy development for the luxury fashion brand.

Walle will be taking over from Laurence Delamare, who has been assigned as the director of 7L and editorial fashion narration. Chanel commended Delamare’s contributions to the development of fashion press relations since joining the company in 2004. 7L, a renowned Left Bank bookstore in Paris, was originally founded by Karl Lagerfeld in 1999. Besides serving as a cultural institution, it has also been a prime location for many of Lagerfeld’s iconic photo shoots.

Emmanuelle Walle’s association with Chanel began in 2019 when she assumed the position of head of press relations in the Perfume and Beauty division. During her tenure, Walle played a vital role in increasing the visibility of various projects, such as “Beauty is cultivated” and the 100th anniversary celebration of Chanel’s iconic scent, No. 5. Chanel recognizes Walle’s expertise as invaluable for fostering relationships with influencers and facilitating dialogue with the press. The company has yet to announce Walle’s successor in the beauty division.

Walle brings a wealth of experience in media and communications to her new role. Before joining Chanel, she served as the editorial manager for Vogue.fr and held the position of editor-in-chief of beauty and style for several women’s press magazines. Additionally, she held various international communications management roles at L’Oréal and Cartier. Walle’s extensive background in the industry positions her well for her new position at Chanel.

Reporting directly to Bruno Pavlovsky, the president of fashion activities at Chanel and Chanel SAS, Walle’s new appointment comes shortly after the retirement of Marie-Louise de Clermont-Tonnerre, the creator of Chanel’s PR department, who left the company after an illustrious fifty-year career.

Chanel’s decision to appoint Emmanuelle Walle as the director of international press relations and fashion public relations signifies a strategic move to reinforce and enhance the brand’s communications efforts. Walle’s expertise and experience in the industry make her a valuable addition to the team, and her promotion reflects Chanel’s commitment to maintaining excellence in their PR and communications departments.
