Celine’s Debut in Madrid: A New Milestone in Luxury Retail

Celine, the prestigious luxury brand owned by LVMH, made a highly-anticipated debut in Madrid with the opening of its first store in the city on March 25. The store, located at number 16 on Calle José Ortega y Gasset, is strategically positioned to join other high-end fashion houses such as Chanel, Dsquared2, Loro Piana, and Tiffany & Co on the luxury shopping street.

Previously only available in two locations within El Corte Inglés on Castellana and Serrano, Celine’s decision to establish a standalone boutique in Madrid showcases its commitment to expanding its presence in the Spanish market. In addition to its Barcelona boutique at 91 Paseo de Gracia, the Madrid store showcases Celine’s latest collections for women, starting from Spring/ Summer 2019.

Under the leadership of CEO Séverine Merle, Celine has been on a path of growth and innovation, including the successful launch of its menswear line and the opening of standalone stores in key fashion capitals like Paris and Milan. With plans to expand its footprint in cities such as Los Angeles, London, Shanghai, and Beijing in 2019, Celine aims to double its revenue to 2 billion euros within the next five years.

The sleek and modern design concept of Celine’s Madrid store mirrors that of its flagship store in New York, reflecting the brand’s distinctive aesthetic under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane. This expansion initiative in major global cities signifies an exciting chapter for Celine as it solidifies its position in the luxury fashion market.
