Celine to Open New Boutique in the Heart of Paris

Celine, a luxury brand under the LVMH group, is set to open its sixth boutique in the heart of Paris. The new store will be located at 390 rue Saint-Honoré in the first arrondissement and will be connected to the existing flagship store dedicated to high perfumery, which opened in 2019. Although the two stores will have separate entrances, they will be adjacent to each other.

Spanning 137 square meters, the new boutique will be situated next to the fragrance boutique and will occupy the space formerly occupied by Loewe, another brand owned by LVMH. One of the striking features of the new store will be its large corner windows on Rue Duphot. Celine already has another boutique on the same street, just a few meters away, which will continue to operate.

While the boutique on Rue Duphot offers a range of ready-to-wear fashion, shoes, and accessories for both men and women, the new store will focus exclusively on women’s accessories. It will not carry clothing or Celine Homme products; instead, it will offer a selection of leather goods, fine jewelry, and various accessories for women.

The addition of this new store will allow customers to explore the entire Celine universe within a few meters on the prestigious Rue Saint-Honoré, a highly sought-after location for luxury brands. The new boutique is located in a historic Haussmann building and has been designed as a “timeless showcase,” showcasing French Modern design with mirrors, Grand Antique marble slabs, and oxidized steel display cases.

The first floor of the boutique will cover 93 square meters and will house Celine’s leather goods, fine jewelry, and women’s accessories. The design of this floor will focus on French elegance and vintage sensibilities. A semi-helical staircase in gilded brass will lead to a mezzanine level, which will feature exclusive models from Celine’s haute leather goods line and an intimate Parisian lounge with a fireplace.

The interior of the boutique has been furnished with specially designed furniture by creative director Hedi Slimane to complement the contemporary artworks chosen for the “Celine Art Project.” This ongoing project involves decorating Celine boutiques with a curated selection of artworks. The Rue Saint-Honoré store will display artwork by Will Boone, sculptures by Ian L.C. Swordy, and a wooden piece by Augustas Serapinas. Additionally, a hanging mobile by American artist Virginia Overton, consisting of three brass and glass suspensions, will be showcased in the store.

With the opening of this new boutique, Celine now has a total of six stores in Paris, including other locations on Avenue Montaigne, Rue François 1er, Rue de Grenelle, and Rue Duphot. The brand also has dedicated spaces at La Samaritaine, Le Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. In addition to its presence in Paris, Celine has two other boutiques in France, located in Cannes and Saint-Tropez. Overall, the brand has a global presence with 178 points of sale, including directly operated stores, shop-in-shops, and corners.
