Cegid Acquires Retail Tech Firm StorIQ to Strengthen Its Positioning in Commerce

French software vendor Cegid has recently made an exciting announcement regarding its acquisition of StorIQ, a prominent retail tech firm based in the UK. StorIQ boasts an impressive client roster that includes well-known brands like Hugo Boss, M&S, Mountain Warehouse, and Douglas. With this acquisition, StorIQ’s co-founder and Managing Director, Amy Bastow, along with the entire company’s staff, will join Cegid’s Retail Business Unit, which is led by Nathalie Echinard. Cegid believes that this acquisition will only further strengthen their position as a leader in providing retail point-of-sale (POS) solutions, both in France and on a global scale.

StorIQ specializes in serving retailers who own between 50 and 2,000 stores and currently has approximately 50 clients. Some of these clients have already implemented StorIQ’s solutions on a global level, supporting over 11,000 stores spread across more than 50 countries. The platform offered by StorIQ is designed to streamline store activity planning and enhance productivity. On the other hand, Cegid is already catering to 1,000 retailers who use their retail solutions in 75 different countries. The company is actively assisting specialty retailers and luxury brands in transitioning to digital platforms. By utilizing their Cegid Retail unified commerce platform, the company is aiming to enable a personalized and exceptional shopping experience across their stores worldwide. With the acquisition of StorIQ, Cegid’s existing offerings will be further complemented, allowing the combined platform to cover all aspects of POS management.

Pascal Houillon, CEO of Cegid, emphasized the importance of retailers accelerating and adapting in order to meet customer expectations and thrive amidst the ever-evolving landscape of bricks-and-mortar stores. He believes that offering outstanding customer experiences, innovative services, and efficient in-store team task management will be crucial for success. By leveraging the strengths of both Cegid and StorIQ, brands and retailers will have the opportunity to provide a seamless shopping experience across their entire store network, while also gaining access to new sales opportunities. Current and future customers will greatly benefit from StorIQ’s optimized POS activity management, setting the stage for their triumph in the continuously evolving retail industry. This acquisition perfectly aligns with Cegid’s vision of Retail the New Way, where technology and innovation play a vital role in driving retail transformation.

In conclusion, Cegid’s acquisition of StorIQ is a significant move that solidifies the company’s leadership in retail POS solutions. With StorIQ’s expertise in store activity planning and Cegid’s established presence in the retail industry, the combined platform will offer comprehensive POS management capabilities.
