Calvin Klein to Open Permanent Store at London Designer Outlet

Calvin Klein is set to open a permanent store at the London Designer Outlet (LDO) following the success of its pop-up shop. Located near the iconic Wembley Stadium complex in north London, LDO has seen a surge in popularity with the addition of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Tommy Hilfiger recently announced plans to expand its presence in the centre after a successful pop-up store venture.

After a trial store opened in August 2020, Calvin Klein will now upsize by 50% to a 4,100 sq ft permanent store at LDO, making it one of the brand’s largest outlet stores in the UK. This decision by major fashion brands to commit to LDO showcases the centre’s strategic improvement in its premium fashion offerings. LDO has a strong customer base of affluent shoppers from London and the Home Counties, and both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein have been performing well with this demographic.

Furthermore, LDO reported a boost in sales following the release of the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die, at its Cineworld theatre. Sales increased by 6.3% week-on-week, demonstrating the positive impact of popular events on footfall at LDO. Menswear sales also witnessed significant growth, with figures 68% higher than pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Additionally, fashion and beauty sales experienced a 6% increase in September compared to the same month in 2019.

The success of LDO can be attributed not only to its premium fashion offerings but also to its advantageous location near Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena, which draw large crowds for events. Visitors to these venues often take the opportunity to dine and shop at LDO, further contributing to its success.

The addition of Calvin Klein and the expansion of Tommy Hilfiger’s store mark significant milestones for the London Designer Outlet. These developments solidify LDO’s position as a premier shopping destination, offering a wide range of high-quality fashion brands to its discerning customer base. With continued growth in sales and the support of popular events, LDO is well-positioned for future success in the retail industry.
