Burberry’s Inspire Programme Expands Globally

Burberry’s Inspire programme, which was initially launched in the UK and US, is now expanding globally to support young people around the world. Backed by the Burberry Foundation, this new initiative has a goal of reaching 500,000 young individuals over the next three years, focusing on Burberry’s key operational regions. The programme builds on the success of the Foundation’s previous Inspire community initiative, where schools were connected with local arts and culture organizations to explore the positive impact of creative arts on young lives.

To take the Inspire programme to a global scale, Burberry has partnered with the International Youth Foundation (IYF). The program aims to unlock the participants’ creativity and drive positive change in their lives and communities. It now incorporates a more holistic approach, extending beyond the visual and performing arts to also provide support for STEM-related skills and leadership development through personal growth and social engagement.

Burberry recognizes the importance of tailoring the programme to address the specific needs of each region. To achieve this, the company has teamed up with eight regional organizations, including CSV Milano, Community Youth Center (CYC) of San Francisco, Girls Inc of New York City, Girl Scouts of Japan, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), Future for Youth Foundation in Korea, New York Edge, and Onside in the UK, which is an existing partner of the Burberry Foundation. These partners will work closely with young people in their respective regions to adapt the programme to suit their requirements.

As the programme expands, Burberry plans to collaborate with additional partners, including in Hong Kong, to further its mission. In 2008, the company established the Burberry Foundation as an independent entity dedicated to charitable purposes and grant-making. With its global reach, the Foundation aims to inspire, equip, and elevate the voices of young people worldwide, enabling them to create positive change in their lives and communities through the power of creativity.
