Burberry Unveils New-Concept Flagship Store on Sloane Street

Burberry, the iconic British luxury brand, has unveiled its new-concept flagship store on Sloane Street in London, marking the first of many stores to feature Burberry’s new global design concept. The aim of this new design is to capture the essence of the brand and provide a unique experience for customers. In the coming year, Burberry plans to open three more flagships with the same design in Shanghai, Paris, and London’s Bond Street.

Situated at No.1 Sloane Street, the new Burberry store showcases the brand’s authenticity, boldness, and creativity. CEO Marco Gobetti describes it as a “uniquely British luxury setting” that offers local and international customers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Burberry’s brand and products. The store was collaboratively designed with architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, and it seamlessly blends classic elements with a modern twist. Various textures, such as concrete, ceramics, and high-gloss finishes, create an engaging and visually stunning atmosphere. The iconic Burberry check in shades of beige, black, white, and red can be seen throughout the store, reinterpreted in the mirrored zones of the ceiling.

The ground floor of the store serves as a gallery-like space, featuring the latest collections. A standalone unit at the entrance displays seasonal items, with the current focus being the new Olympia bag. Glass cabinets and high-gloss shelving showcase a range of accessories, while glass dividers create a sense of intimacy without compromising the store’s openness. Additionally, a dedicated section for Burberry trench coats is available, incorporating suspended light tubes and sliding panels.

The first floor is devoted to womenswear and boasts a combination of white gloss and Burberry beige. A tiered, custom-made island displays shoes, while large arched windows provide views of Knightsbridge and allow natural light to fill the space. Strategically placed mirrors reflect this light, creating an even greater sense of openness. The addition of comfortable seating areas and a centrepiece ottoman add a touch of luxury, and accordion panels can be utilized to create private consultation zones.

Lastly, the second floor focuses on menswear and features an elegant white terrazzo design. Custom sculptural furniture and fixtures are scattered throughout the space, accentuating the architectural asymmetry of the area.

In summary, Burberry’s new-concept flagship store on Sloane Street flawlessly embodies the brand’s heritage while embracing a contemporary aesthetic. With its thoughtful design and immersive experience, this store provides customers with a truly exceptional British luxury shopping destination. As Burberry continues to expand globally, this new store sets the stage for what lies ahead.
