Burberry Undergoes Management Reorganization

Burberry, the renowned British luxury fashion brand, is currently undergoing a management reorganization after its CEO, Marco Gobbetti, announced his departure. Gobbetti will be leaving Burberry at the end of the year to work for the prestigious Italian luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo. In response to this news, Burberry has promoted Gianluca Flore to the chief commercial officer position.

Flore, who previously served as the president of Americas and global head of retail excellence, has proven to be an exceptional leader in the American market. During his tenure, Burberry’s sales in the region experienced a significant increase in the first quarter of 2021. Gobbetti has commended Flore for his dedication and the positive impact he has made on the brand.

With extensive experience in the retail industry, gained through various roles in both the American and Asian markets, Flore is the ideal candidate to oversee Burberry’s commercial activities. His familiarity with the brand, having joined Burberry in July 2017 from luxury menswear brand Brioni, further strengthens his suitability for the role. Prior to his time at Brioni, Flore held positions at Bottega Veneta, where he served as the president for the Americas region, and later as the global retail and wholesale director and CEO for the Asia Pacific region.

Before entering the luxury industry, Flore began his career as an auditor and financial advisor at Arthur Andersen after completing his studies at the LUISS Business School in Rome. He then held significant roles at La Perla, Fendi (part of LVMH Group), and Kering.

As Flore transitions into his new position as chief commercial officer, Thibaut Perrin-Faivre will step into his previous role as president of Americas and global head of retail excellence. Perrin-Faivre, who currently serves as Burberry’s senior vice president of retail and the Americas, will assume his new role on January 1. This management reorganization demonstrates Burberry’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition and continued success in the luxury fashion industry.
