Burberry Partners with OnSide to Support Disadvantaged Youth

Luxury fashion house Burberry has recently announced a new partnership with youth charity OnSide, as a way to address the cost-of-living crisis affecting young people. This collaboration is in line with the community values of Burberry’s founder, Thomas Burberry, and aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for economically disadvantaged young people during the winter season.

As part of OnSide’s Network Winter Hunger Appeal, Burberry will be making a generous donation to provide free cooked meals to 5,000 young people attending an OnSide Youth Zone. The donation will also be used to support the operational expenses, training, and guidance of all Youth Zones in OnSide’s national network, ensuring they remain open and supported throughout the winter.

Burberry highlights that this partnership with OnSide signifies the start of a long-term collaboration with The Burberry Foundation. The belief is that creativity can offer opportunities for the next generation to flourish. OnSide’s Youth Zones provide safe spaces for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore their creative potential and imagination.

In addition to supporting OnSide, Burberry will also be making financial donations to four renowned international food charities. Among these are FareShare and The Felix Project, both long-term partners of Burberry. The company will also be donating to Banco Alimentare in Italy and City Harvest in New York.

Caroline Laurie, Burberry’s VP of Corporate Responsibility, emphasizes the vital support that OnSide and their dedicated team provide to young people affected by the cost-of-living crisis. She states that Burberry’s donation aims to ensure that Youth Zones can continue to offer a safe and warm environment for young people to access food and support.

This partnership between Burberry and OnSide showcases the brand’s commitment to supporting youth charities and addressing social issues. It aligns with their ongoing efforts in corporate responsibility and reflects their dedication to fostering creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement.
