Burberry Launches Global Pop-Up to Showcase Olympia Bag

Burberry has recently launched a series of global pop-ups to showcase its iconic Olympia bag, with the first one located in Harrods, London. The pop-up not only displays the impressive collection of Olympia bags but also offers visitors an augmented reality (AR) experience. Designed by Riccardo Tisci, the Olympia bag is a stunning example of modern classicism with its structured and sculptural design. It features a unique crescent curve that beautifully aligns with the body, giving off a sporty vibe. The Harrods pop-up perfectly captures this aesthetic by incorporating sweeping curves and statues inspired by Ancient Greece, reimagined for the modern era. The space mirrors the graceful arc of the Olympia bag, resulting in a visually captivating experience that celebrates both craftsmanship and inspiration.

Visitors to the pop-up will be delighted to discover a wide variety of Olympia bags available in different shapes, styles, and colors. In addition to the regular collection, there is also a limited-edition range that features warm sand and blue topaz tones, complete with a chunky gold-plated chain strap. Another striking option is the marigold yellow and marsh green edition, which comes with leather straps. For those who prefer a mini-sized bag, there is even a chic black version available. Each bag from the limited-edition collection is engraved with a unique edition number on the inside, and Harrods is exclusively offering numbers one to eight.

One of the highlights of this pop-up experience is the Elpis statue, which can be brought to life using an immersive AR experience. Burberry has been actively exploring the potential of AR technology, and this activation further exemplifies the brand’s commitment to enhancing the luxury shopping experience. Visitors simply need to scan a dedicated QR code to bring an animated digital version of the statue into their surroundings. They can then witness the statue come to life and even walk towards them, leaving behind a trail of motion sequence statues. To capture this magical moment, visitors are given the option to take a photo or record a video of the animated statue.
