Burberry Launches Friends and Family Creative Series

Burberry has made an exciting announcement with the launch of its new “creative series” called Friends and Family. This series will involve collaborations with inspiring creatives from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to bring their own personal touch to Burberry’s designs. The Chief Creative Officer, Riccardo Tisci, will be partnering with these individuals for each pre-collection, giving them the opportunity to reinterpret the Burberry identity.

The first collaborator in the Friends and Family series is Lea T, who has a longstanding relationship with Tisci and is considered part of the Burberry family. Lea T has previously been featured as a model in Burberry campaigns and walked in their SS21 runway show. Her unique perspective and creativity make her an ideal match for this collaboration.

This move by Burberry is in line with a larger trend in the fashion industry, where brands are recognizing the value of opening up creative input to a wider circle of individuals. By working with collaborators like Lea T, Burberry can add a new dimension to their label and attract a different audience. These partnerships generate excitement around specific collections and create a buzz within the fashion industry.

Other brands, such as Moncler, have also embraced this collaborative approach. Moncler recently launched its Moncler Select digital project, which involves influential figures from various fields curating products and directing online editorial content. Burberry’s Friends and Family series follows a similar concept, showcasing the creative vision of different individuals and celebrating the concept of togetherness and style.

The series will kick off with Lea T’s collaboration for the AW22 pre-collection, set to be released in January 2022. This initiative not only highlights the creativity and innovation of diverse individuals but also reflects Burberry’s commitment to inclusivity within the fashion industry. By collaborating with unexpected talents, Burberry aims to bring a fresh perspective to their designs and create a unique experience for their customers.
