Burberry Joins Forces with LEEDS 2023 to Support Artistic and Cultural Projects

Burberry, the renowned luxury house, is embarking on a collaboration with LEEDS 2023 to support artistic and cultural projects focused on the British community. Through this partnership, Burberry aims to inspire and engage the next generation of creative thinkers and engineers within the local area. With offices in Leeds, a factory in Castleford, and a mill in Keighley, the brand is reinforcing its presence in West Yorkshire and across the UK.

Remake, a leading authority on sustainable fashion, reports that Burberry has joined forces with LEEDS 2023 to promote creative education in the region. Over the course of the coming year, Burberry will actively support the initiatives implemented by the organization. With plans for twelve major operations and numerous events, the collaboration seeks to foster cultural and artistic experiences. The shared objective of both Burberry and LEEDS 2023 is to unite diverse communities, nurture young talent, and celebrate the local area, as highlighted by Rob Blomfield, Vice President of Global Commercial Services at Burberry.

Abigail Scott Paul, Director of External Relations and Strategic Partnerships for LEEDS 2023, expressed gratitude for the immense support received from the entire Burberry team. Many team members have already participated in volunteer programs and utilized their skills and expertise in creative learning initiatives. Scott Paul believes that aligning the brand with Smeaton300, LEEDS 2023’s initiative, is a natural fit and will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of local creative thinkers and engineers.

The collaboration kicks off with “The Awakening,” scheduled to commence on January 7 at Headingley Stadium. Over forty Burberry volunteers will organize the event, which will feature artists spanning various disciplines, including music, dance, poetry, and comedy.

Burberry has a history of engaging in altruistic initiatives, such as the “Burberry Inspire” program, which facilitates connections between students and cultural institutions like Leeds Young Film and Northern Ballet. The brand has also partnered with Teach First to create a program dedicated to children and collaborated with OnSide. Additionally, Burberry has recently joined forces with Gen.G to empower women in the esports industry.
