Burberry Enters the World of Manga and Anime with Blue Period Collaboration

Burberry, the renowned British luxury brand, has embarked on a new creative venture by entering the world of manga and anime. Collaborating with accomplished author and illustrator Tsubasa Yamaguchi, famous for the widely successful manga Blue Period, Burberry has brought to life an original story featuring a captivating character named Lola, who draws inspiration from their iconic Lola Bag.

Initially, Burberry introduced virtual renditions of the Lola Bag within the popular online game Roblox. However, the brand has now taken it a step further by joining forces with Yamaguchi to breathe life into the character of Lola. Through captivating written and illustrated storytelling, Lola’s persona is unveiled alongside the beloved protagonists Yatora and Ryuji from Blue Period.

To celebrate the release of this unique episode of Burberry and Blue Period manga, a limited edition print format is now available exclusively at Burberry stores in Japan. As part of their promotional strategy, Burberry is also hosting an exhibition at their flagship store situated in Tokyo’s bustling Omotesando district. This drive-to-store approach not only aims to attract manga enthusiasts but also underscores the increasing interest of luxury brands in this art form, particularly among younger consumers.

The collaboration between Burberry and Blue Period adds to the growing trend of luxury brands joining forces with popular manga and anime series. Notable examples include Dolce & Gabbana’s collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen, Loewe’s partnership with Studio Ghibli, and Gucci’s collaboration with Doraemon.

While the special Burberry x Blue Period edition is currently available exclusively in Japanese, an e-book version can be accessed for free on Burberry’s official website. There is hope that a translation will soon be provided to cater to the international community, allowing more people to immerse themselves in this captivating collaboration.
