Burberry Announces Strengthened Partnership with Mythical Games

British luxury house Burberry has announced a strengthened partnership with American video game publisher, Mythical Games, marking their second collaboration with the flagship game, Blankos Block Party. The aim of this collaboration is to provide unique brand gaming experiences to their respective communities.

Blankos Block Party is a multiplayer interface that features small characters in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). These characters, known as “Blankos,” can be bought, collected, upgraded, and resold. In this partnership, a limited edition vinyl toy and NFT called Minny B, along with associated accessories, will be available for purchase from June 22.

This collaboration follows Burberry’s previous collaboration with Mythical Games, where they released a Burberry-themed NFT named “Burberry Blanko” featuring the brand’s TB Summer monogram in a limited edition. This initiative made Burberry the first luxury house to enter the world of NFTs.

Commenting on the collaboration, Burberry’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rod Manley, expressed excitement about exploring the world of NFTs. He highlighted that it allows digital natives and gamers to own a piece of the brand and engage with its codes. Burberry sees this partnership as a step towards the future of digital ownership in gaming.

Burberry is aligning itself with the luxury industry’s increasing engagement with the Web3 and its focus on value and experience. While embracing the digital sphere, the brand also emphasizes hyper-physicality, as demonstrated by the immersive events it recently organized in London.
