Browns Luxury Retailer Promotes Key Buyers to Strengthen Team

Browns, the renowned luxury retailer under the ownership of Farfetch, has recently made significant changes within its buying team, rewarding star buyers with key roles in both the women’s and menswear departments. One of the notable promotions includes Ida Petersson, who has been appointed as the Buying Director for both womenswear and menswear. With a strong background as a former Buying Manager at Net-A-Porter, Petersson brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously focused solely on womenswear.

In addition to Petersson’s promotion, Dean Cook has also been elevated to the position of Head of Menswear Buying, following his tenure as the Menswear Buying Manager. The reshuffle within the buying team at Browns is aimed at further strengthening the retailer’s position as the ultimate destination for coveted luxury products.

Furthermore, Hollie Harding has been promoted to the role of Womenswear Buying Manager of Non-Apparel, showcasing Browns’ commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent within its team. The luxury retailer has hinted at more appointments in the pipeline as it continues to bolster its buying team to meet the evolving demands of its discerning clientele.

Browns has particularly highlighted the growth of its womenswear division, emphasizing the introduction of new brands across non-apparel, next-generation, and fine jewelry categories. On the other hand, the menswear category has experienced significant growth, now representing over 30% of Browns’ total business, signaling a shift in consumer preferences within the luxury sector.

Holli Rogers, the CEO of Browns and Chief Fashion Officer of Farfetch, commended both Petersson and Cook for their valuable contributions to the company. Rogers lauded Petersson for her pivotal role in securing strategic partnerships that have solidified Browns’ position as a leader in the industry, while recognizing Cook’s efforts in elevating the menswear offerings and driving growth across all categories. The recent appointments reflect Browns’ dedication to fostering talent and driving innovation in the competitive luxury retail landscape.
