Browns AW19: Classicism, New Designers, and Knee-Length Boots

Browns AW19 is set to be a season filled with grown-up classicism, new designers, and the resurgence of knee-length boots. The luxury London store is gearing up for a bustling season with exciting collaborations and fresh labels making their debut. Buying director Ida Petersson recently unveiled what to expect for the upcoming season at a presentation in London.

Petersson emphasized the importance of classic and sophisticated styles for the upcoming season, highlighting Bottega Veneta and Celine as top picks. She lauded Daniel Lee’s work at Bottega Veneta for seamlessly blending luxury with classic elements, and praised Hedi Slimane’s second collection for Celine for its sharp tailoring with a soft, 70s vibe.

In addition to established labels, Petersson pointed out the addition of fresh talent like Marine Serre, Asai, Molly Goddard, and Wales Bonner to the Browns lineup. These emerging designers offer a refreshing and energetic perspective to the fashion world, resonating with a global audience.

Browns’ dedication to scouting for new talent globally was evident when Petersson attended Shanghai Fashion Week, discovering designers like Angel Chen, Samuel Gui Yang, and Shushu/Tong. The store aims to nurture emerging designers, focusing on promoting diverse and inclusive fashion.

The upcoming season will see the introduction of new brands like Batsheva, Bernadette, Usisi, Hyke, 032c, and Kirin at Browns. Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize’s menswear collection will also be available, along with other brands like Coperni and Lemaire, reflecting a contemporary form of classicism.

Exclusive collaborations with Viktor & Rolf, Charles Jeffrey, Matériel, Amina Muaddi, Collina Strada, Ack, Staud, and Zimmermann will enhance the offerings at Browns. Additionally, the High Performance activewear category will feature capsules from Lapp and Rapha, showcasing Browns’ commitment to unique collections.

Petersson also revealed that knee-high boots are set to make a comeback this season, catering to both traditional and trendsetting customers. With an eclectic mix of established and emerging designers, Browns AW19 promises to be a season full of sophistication, innovation, and style.
