Bottega Veneta Unveils New Store in Milan’s Historic Shopping Center

Bottega Veneta has recently unveiled its newest store in the historic Vittorio Emanuele II shopping center in Milan, also known as the “Salon de Milan.” This marks the luxury brand’s third store in the Lombardy capital, with its other locations situated in the prestigious Luxury Quadrilateral on Via Montenapoleone and Via Sant’Andrea. What sets this new store apart is that it is the first in Italy to be designed by Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy. This fresh perspective brings a unique and luxurious interior concept that was previously only seen in the brand’s Paris flagship store on Avenue Montaigne.

Blazy’s design for the Milan store incorporates three distinctive elements. The first is the use of dark walnut wood furniture and a spiral staircase, which adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The second is the incorporation of glass bricks for the walls and ceiling, creating a sleek and modern look. Lastly, the store features Verde Saint Denis marble from the Aosta Valley for the flooring, adding a touch of opulence to the space.

One standout feature of the store is the never-ending spiral staircase that greets visitors at the entrance, leading them to the first floor. The entire space is designed to have a modernist aesthetic with a warm and intimate ambiance. Visitors will find small lounges with low wooden tables, green plants in golden pots, woolen rugs, and leather armchairs, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Spanning 240 square meters over two levels, the store primarily focuses on accessories. It offers a wide range of shoes for both men and women, along with a variety of leather bags woven using the traditional Intrecciato technique. Four dedicated rooms are dedicated to showcasing the accessories, while ready-to-wear items have their own space with three racks displaying limited pieces for both genders.

To commemorate the opening of the new store in Milan, Bottega Veneta is presenting approximately twenty exclusive bag models and providing a sneak peek of a pair of shoes from the upcoming spring-summer 2024 collection, which will be available in stores within the next three weeks.

Bottega Veneta was able to secure this prestigious location in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II thanks to Gucci, which vacated its spot and moved to a larger space formerly occupied by Massimo Dutti. With Saint Laurent also nearby, the Kering luxury group now boasts three points of sale in this renowned location, renowned for its popularity among tourists.

With sales targets of €1.74 billion for 2022, Bottega Veneta currently operates nearly 280 stores worldwide. Recently, the brand expanded its presence by opening its first store in Aspen, Colorado, and adding a third store in Mumbai, India.
