Bottega Veneta Introduces Certificate of Craftsmanship

Bottega Veneta, the luxury label owned by the Kering group, is set to pioneer a unique service called the “certificate of craftsmanship” to highlight the durability of its handcrafted products. This new initiative will first focus on the brand’s iconic bags and models that showcase the renowned “intrecciato” leather braiding technique, which has become emblematic of the house.

Launching in mid-November, the brand plans to introduce this service initially for its iconic bags, later expanding it to include all bags and other product categories. When customers make a purchase at one of Bottega Veneta’s boutiques, they will receive a physical card that serves as the certificate of craftsmanship, linked to the product’s serial number. This card ensures unlimited refreshments and repairs for the purchased bag.

The primary goal of this initiative is to foster multi-generational usage of Bottega Veneta products. By offering a long-term preservation service, the brand aims to promote responsible consumption and reduce the need for customers to replace their items. CEO Leo Rongone explains, “The Certificate of Craftsmanship was born out of a desire to offer our customers a superior service to preserve their products for the long term. We are focused on responsible growth, with the intention of prolonging the use of our products and minimizing replacements.”

This vision aligns with that of Bottega Veneta’s founders, who sought to create the pinnacle of luxury. The brand takes pride in its meticulous craftsmanship and designs products meant to withstand the test of time. While other labels have offered lifetime guarantees before, Bottega Veneta’s certificate of craftsmanship will further enhance the brand’s image, underscoring its exclusivity through products made with exceptional materials and artisanal techniques.

In conclusion, Bottega Veneta’s introduction of the “certificate of craftsmanship” and lifetime maintenance service reaffirms its commitment to durability and responsible consumption. By providing unlimited refreshments and repairs for their bags, the brand hopes to inspire customers to utilize their products for extended periods, consequently reducing the need for replacements. This initiative serves as another testament to Bottega Veneta’s dedication to luxury and craftsmanship, ensuring their products can be cherished for a lifetime.
