Bogner’s Remarkable Entrance into the Chinese Market

Bogner, the renowned German ski wear brand, made a remarkable entrance into the Chinese market with the inauguration of its first franchise store in China on November 10th. The store, situated in the heart of the Thaiwoo ski resort near Chongli, covers a spacious 40 square meters and is conveniently located just a three-hour drive away from Beijing.

This strategic move represents a major milestone for Bogner as it marks the brand’s initial venture into the Chinese market. The franchise store, positioned on Fashion Street within the resort, provides a prime location to showcase the ‘World of Bogner’ along with the brand’s diverse range of collections and licensed products in a generous 164-square-meter space. Adhering to Bogner’s sleek Modern Natural concept, the store aims to attract visitors by offering its luxurious ski wear seven days a week.

Chongli District is widely recognized as China’s premier ski destination, with the Thaiwoo ski resort set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. The Chinese government’s ambitious aim to draw in 300 million winter sports enthusiasts over the next four years further underscores the relevance of Bogner’s presence at the Thaiwoo ski resort in keeping with the growing popularity of winter sports in the region.

Andreas Baumgärtner, Bogner’s CEO, conveyed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with the Thaiwoo Ski Resort, highlighting the location’s perfect altitude and climate as an ideal match for the brand’s luxury ski wear collection. Bogner’s Chinese franchise partners, Hong Qi and Summer Zhou, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing their mutual passion for winter sports and skiing as the driving force behind the partnership.

With a staggering 19 self-operated stores, 33 franchise locations, and over 6,500 retail partners in more than 50 countries worldwide, Bogner has firmly established itself as a global leader in luxury ski wear. The brand’s presence in China through franchise partners in over 100 markets across Asia and the Pacific Region, including countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, and Australia, underscores its commitment to expanding its reach.
