BFC Designer Pop-Up at Bicester Village

The highly anticipated British Fashion Council designer pop-up is making its way to Bicester Village, the renowned luxury shopping destination. This exclusive event will feature top British designers from emerging talents to well-established brands, giving them the opportunity to showcase their designs to a wider audience.

Last year’s pop-up was a huge success, generating over £100,000 in sales with 14 featured designers. This year’s event promises to be even more spectacular, with 30 designers lined up to participate. Names like Grace Wales Bonner, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, and Sophia Webster will be among the talented designers showcased.

Participating designers will have the unique opportunity to trade without any charges and will receive 100% of their sales. This not only serves as a platform for designers to exhibit their creativity but also gives them the chance to gain valuable retail experience and reach over 450,000 new customers in just a two-week period.

Caroline Rush, the chief executive of the British Fashion Council, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, noting the immense potential for British businesses to expand their reach and gain practical retail experience. The relationship between Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council extends further with ongoing support programs like the Business of Retail partnership.

Designers in this year’s line-up, including Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, and Phoebe English, have benefited from the Business of Retail program. This initiative offers mentorship and commercial opportunities to emerging designers by connecting them with luxury brand merchants, hoteliers, experts in hospitality, and professionals in PR and marketing across Europe and China.

Desiree Bollier, chair and chief merchant of Value Retail Management, spoke highly of the program, praising its commercial opportunities and mentorship for the best British design talents. Through tailored support, designers are introduced to new audiences and provided with retail expertise to showcase British creativity globally.

The BFC Designer Pop-Up is scheduled to open at Bicester Village on 8 October and will run until 27 October. This exciting collaboration between Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council not only celebrates British fashion but also serves as a platform for designers to display their skills and connect with a broader base of customers.
