Berluti Designs Opening Ceremony Uniforms for French Teams at Olympics

Luxury conglomerate LVMH’s renowned menswear brand, Berluti, has been honored with the opportunity to design the opening ceremony uniforms for the French teams participating in the upcoming summer Olympics and Paralympics. This collaboration not only serves to elevate the reputation of Berluti but also reinforces its standing as a brand known for its impeccably crafted leather shoes and tailored suits. Antoine Arnault, the CEO of Berluti and one of the heirs of LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, expressed his excitement about the brand’s goal of combining elegance and performance in the uniform design. Arnault also played a key role in negotiating LVMH’s sponsorship deal worth an impressive 150 million euros ($166 million) for the Olympics, a significant announcement made in July.

With the Olympic Games scheduled to commence on July 26, followed by the Paralympics on August 28, the anticipation surrounding these high-profile events is immense. As Paris, a city that has previously hosted two Olympics, prepares to serve as the host city for this year’s summer Games after a century-long wait, the event is expected to attract massive audiences worldwide. Viewers, both in-person and through televised and streamed broadcasts, will be captivated by the world-class athletic performances on display. This year’s Games in Tokyo were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, further enhancing the significance of the upcoming event in Paris.

LVMH’s sponsorship for the Olympics includes its prestigious fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Dior, as well as its renowned champagne and spirits labels like Moet Hennessy, and jeweler Chaumet, which has been entrusted with the task of designing the medals for the event. LVMH is also proud to be sponsoring several athletes, including French swimming sensation Leon Marchand, talented gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos, accomplished fencer Enzo Lefort, and promising wheelchair tennis player Pauline Deroulede. Additionally, the group’s beauty retailer, Sephora, will be a sponsor of the Olympic torch relay, showcasing the diversity of LVMH’s contributions to these prestigious Games.

The partnership between LVMH’s Berluti and the French teams for the Olympics and Paralympics represents an exquisite fusion of elegance and performance. It highlights LVMH’s unwavering commitment to supporting both sports and the arts, effectively bringing together the worlds of luxury fashion and international athletic competition. With all eyes on Paris for the highly anticipated Olympics, Berluti is perfectly positioned to demonstrate its expertise in creating sophisticated and functional uniforms that embody both French excellence and the spirit of the Games.
