Bentley Motors Pays Homage to Craig Sager with Exclusive Continental GT Speed

Bentley Motors, the American division of the popular automobile manufacturer, is paying homage to the late sports journalist Craig Sager with a one-of-a-kind Continental GT Speed. This exclusive vehicle will be auctioned in 2023, with all the proceeds going towards the SagerStrong Foundation, an organization dedicated to fighting blood cancer. Bentley Motors aims to honor Sager’s legacy through this special edition car.

Buoyed by a strong start to the year in terms of revenue, Bentley Motors is pushing forward with its development strategy. While the company is primarily focusing on innovations in the Web3 sector, it has chosen to stand out through a creative and charitable project. The American arm of Bentley Motors has decided to pay tribute to Craig Sager, a renowned sports journalist known for his commentary and vibrant, eccentric fashion sense. Sager sadly passed away in 2016 from leukemia, and together with his wife, he established the SagerStrong Foundation to combat blood cancer.

In support of this foundation, Bentley Motors drew inspiration from Sager’s distinctive wardrobe. The end result is the Continental GT Speed convertible model featuring a striking floral pattern in pink, yellow, red, orange, and purple hues. This design directly references a floral suit worn by Sager at the 2016 ESPYs and aims to capture his dynamic, enduringly positive, and uplifting spirit, as described by Bentley Motors’ Director of Retail Marketing, Scott Reynolds. The car’s headrests are embroidered with Sager’s signature, and various celebrities, including Magic Johnson, have added their autographs, further enhancing the car’s value.

This unique creation by Bentley Motors will be auctioned off early in 2023, with all the proceeds directly contributing to the fight against blood cancer. The initiative taken by Bentley Motors is reminiscent of Porsche’s charitable efforts in March. Porsche had designed a model inspired by the character Sally from the Pixar animated movie Cars, with the aim of raising funds for multiple non-profit organizations. These types of projects allow brands to showcase their artistic capabilities while supporting charitable causes. They provide a more engaging and communicative way for companies to contribute to associations compared to traditional financial donations.
