Bentley Motors: A Legacy of Performance and Luxury

Bentley Motors has always been known for its combination of high performance and a strong connection with its customers and fans. Throughout its history, the brand has upheld values of well-being, everyday comfort, and community involvement. From its early years in motor racing competitions to its current modernization efforts, Bentley has remained dedicated to delivering luxurious vehicles and creating a sense of enthusiasm among its supporters.

As Marketing and Communication Manager for Bentley Motors Europe, Amel Boubaaya affirms that the brand’s success can be attributed to its impressive performances in motor racing, including a first-place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This accomplishment generated a real enthusiasm among the “Bentley Boys & Girls” and solidified the brand’s reputation for exceptional performance.

In the 1950s, Bentley transitioned towards a greater focus on everyday closeness and comfort. This shift began with the launch of the R Type, a more luxurious and comfortable 4-seater model that made Bentley vehicles suitable for daily commutes. Another significant development came in the 2000s when the brand was acquired by Volkswagen. This partnership led to the launch of the “Grand Tourisme (GT) Continental,” a versatile model that revolutionized Bentley’s car range and remains a popular choice today, accounting for 44% of sales in Europe.

Boubaaya emphasizes that Bentley not only offers cars for driving enthusiasts but also for those who prefer to be driven. This focus on delivering a luxurious and enjoyable experience reflects the brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Since 2020, Bentley has embarked on the Beyond100 plan, aiming to become a leader in sustainable luxury mobility. As part of this plan, the brand is undergoing a major internal transformation to achieve true sustainable progress over the next hundred years. Bentley is making tangible changes by updating its engines, with the W12 engine being phased out and hybrid systems being introduced. Furthermore, the brand plans to release a 100% electric model in 2026, with the goal of offering electric versions or revised models annually thereafter.

Apart from its automotive offerings, Bentley has expanded its “Bentley Home” collection over the years. This collection includes various lifestyle items inspired by the brand’s automobiles, such as blankets, mugs, and armchairs featuring iconic design elements. Bentley ensures a natural transition from the passion for automobiles to a more lifestyle-oriented aspect by involving the same artisans and traditional craftsmanship.

In conclusion, Bentley Motors is modernizing by embracing sustainable mobility, updating its engines, and expanding its lifestyle-oriented offerings. With a rich history built on performance and community connection, the brand continues to evolve while remaining true to its values.
