Battersea Power Station Prepares to Open Its Doors

Battersea Power Station, a beloved landmark in London, is preparing to open its doors in October. To commemorate the transformation of the Power Station, a five-day ‘Festival of Power’ will take place. The festival, which will be held on October 14-16 and 22-23, will offer visitors the opportunity to explore the Grade II-listed building and discover the vast array of shops, bars, restaurants, and leisure venues that now call the Power Station home.

One of the highlights of the festival is the unveiling of the Power Station’s restored Turbine Halls. This magnificent restoration will allow various British and international brands to open their doors to the public for the very first time. Shoppers can expect to find exclusive stores such as Ralph Lauren, Mulberry, Theory, Lacoste, and more.

Aside from well-known brands, the Power Station will also house over 40 local independent small businesses, providing a unique shopping experience for visitors. From clothing and homewares to artwork and more, there will be something for everyone.

The newly constructed Electric Boulevard will serve as the main gateway between the Power Station and the surrounding neighborhood. This pedestrianized high street offers easy access to the Power Station from the Zone 1 London Underground Station. Excitingly, brands like Zara and David Clulow have already announced their opening on Electric Boulevard.

The Festival of Power will not only be a haven for shoppers but also a lively event filled with entertainment and activities suitable for all ages. Live music performances, roaming performers, acrobats, and family-friendly installations will create an energetic atmosphere throughout the festival. A centerpiece of the festival is the ‘Arcadia’s Lords of Lightning’ dueling performance, which will feature multi-million-volt bolts being fired between two ‘Lords’. This electrifying show will take place in the expansive six-acre Power Station Park on Friday, October 14.

Another moment of excitement during the festival is the official countdown to the Power Station’s opening. This exciting event will take place in Malaysia Square, situated to the south of the main building. Visitors will have the chance to join in the anticipation as the doors of the Power Station are prepared to open for the first time.

As a part of the October opening, Lift 109, a unique glass elevator experience located inside the northwest chimney, will also be revealed. From a height of 109 meters, visitors can expect to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of London.

The Festival of Power promises to be an unforgettable event, marking not only the opening of Battersea Power Station but also the creation of a vibrant and diverse retail, leisure, and residential area. With a combination of iconic brands, independent businesses, entertainment, and awe-inspiring views, the Power Station is destined to become a must-visit destination in London. Visitors can look forward to immersing themselves in a truly unique and exciting experience as they explore this historic landmark in its new incarnation.
