Battersea Power Station Opens its Doors

After an extensive multi-year rebuild and repurpose project, Battersea Power Station is finally getting ready to open its doors. The iconic London landmark will feature a shopping centre, leisure facilities, offices, and residential units that are all set to open this year. To prepare for the grand opening, the owners of Battersea Power Station have launched a recruitment drive to fill over 2,500 jobs, with a focus on retail positions.

To kickstart the hiring process, the ‘Employ Wandsworth – A Jobs Fair for Battersea and Nine Elms at Battersea Power Station’ event will take place on July 13th. More than 70 companies, including popular brands like Zara, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Uniqlo, and The Body Shop, will be participating in the fair. These national and international brands will be opening stores in the fully-restored Grade II listed centre, with Zara leading the way on the Electric Boulevard.

With Zara alone expected to recruit between 300-350 employees at the jobs fair, Simon Murphy, CEO at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), expressed his pride in the participation of so many esteemed brands. He also emphasized the positive impact that the regeneration of this historic landmark is having on the local community. This project not only offers exciting new career opportunities but also provides a significant boost to the local economy.

Battersea Power Station will soon become the heart of a new “15-minute” live, work, and play neighborhood. Acting as a vibrant town center for local communities, a bustling business district for London, and a thrilling destination for visitors, this iconic landmark will showcase over 100 retail stores, restaurants, and cafes. Additionally, visitors will have access to unique event spaces, a cinema, and an unforgettable “chimney lift experience” that offers stunning 360-degree views of London’s skyline from the top of the Power Station’s northwest chimney.

The opening of Battersea Power Station is highly anticipated as it represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to restoring this historic masterpiece. The job fair is a crucial step in the process, providing a plethora of employment opportunities and showcasing the diverse range of retail brands that will come together to create a vibrant and dynamic destination. With its rich history and iconic architecture, Battersea Power Station is poised to become a must-visit location in London, attracting both locals and tourists.
