The company plans to open a 300 square meter boutique called High End, entirely focused on recreational cannabis. This unique store will be located on the fifth floor of Barneys’ Beverly Hills location in Los Angeles, California, and is scheduled to open its doors in March.
Since Barneys does not possess a license to sell cannabis products, it has entered into a partnership with the luxury cannabis brand Beboe. Beboe, founded by tattoo artist Scott Campbell and former President of US operations for the YOOX Group, Clément Kwan, will exclusively supply their products to the store. In addition to cannabis products, High End will offer a range of high-end accessories such as trays, water pipes, ashtrays, lighters, boxes, and rolling papers. Customers can also expect to find skincare, cosmetics, and jewelry, with collaborations planned for the future. Some of the products will be available for purchase online as well.
Barneys describes this move as “avant-garde,” reflecting its commitment to being a trendsetter in both culture and lifestyle. The company believes that cannabis is a part of its customers’ lifestyle and aims to provide exceptional products while maintaining the unique Barneys experience. It is also important to note that Barneys intends to expand this concept to other store locations in the near future.
It is interesting to highlight that the purchase of cannabis in California no longer requires a medical prescription since the recreational use of cannabis was legalized in January 2018.
