Barbour Partners with National Trust for Storm Arwen Restoration Programme

Barbour, the luxury outerwear brand, has partnered with the National Trust on a restoration programme to address the damage caused by Storm Arwen in the North East of England. The collaboration will focus on the clean-up and restoration of three locations: Wallington, Cragside, and Hadrian’s Wall.

Last winter’s extreme weather resulted in the loss of numerous trees, some of which were over 250 years old. The National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity, aims to combat this destruction by planting 10,000 trees as part of its goal to establish 20 million trees by 2030. Barbour has also pledged to plant 100,000 trees this year.

The partnership between Barbour and the National Trust aligns with the priorities of Barbour’s customers, who value the preservation of the British countryside. To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Dame Margaret Barbour personally re-planted the National Trust’s Jubilee oak tree in the Formal Garden at Cragside, commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The collaboration will also involve Barbour’s support for woodland restoration projects at the Wallington and Cragside estates in Northumberland, as well as work at Hadrian’s Wall.
