Barbara Palvin and Meghan Markle: Fashion and Beauty Industry Influencers

Two recent studies have revealed that Barbara Palvin and Meghan Markle are among the most influential figures in the fashion and beauty world. The first study, conducted by Gala Bingo, analyzed various factors such as social media followings, Google searches, media mentions, and fan engagement to identify the most talked-about women globally. Hungarian model Barbara Palvin topped the list, followed by Georgina Rodriguez, Chiara Ferragni, Nikkie Tutorials, and Ngọc Trinh.

Barbara Palvin’s impact in the industry can be attributed to her massive social media following of over 17 million and her association with renowned brands like Victoria’s Secret. Another notable influencer is Dutch makeup artist and beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager, known as Nikkie Tutorials on YouTube, who has gained significant fame since 2015. The research also emphasizes that, while women value traits such as charity work, empowering others, and academic achievements in their role models, social media status remains a powerful tool for influencing consumer choices.

A separate survey of 2,000 UK consumers discovered that Millennials are more likely to find inspiration in a person’s social media following compared to older age groups. 19% of Millennials cited social media following as a source of inspiration, while only 3% of individuals over the age of 65 did. Additionally, 80% of respondents admitted to being more inspired by celebrities compared to people they personally know, with older women being slightly less influenced at 62%.

In another study conducted by the beauty site RY, Meghan Markle was identified as the most “newsworthy” celebrity beauty icon. This conclusion was drawn from an analysis of Google news data, which revealed that there have been a staggering 88.5 million articles written about Meghan Markle’s hair, makeup, and skincare secrets. This number surpassed the coverage of Kim Kardashian by over 10 million articles. Other members of the Kardashian family, as well as Taylor Swift, Khloe Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Kourtney Kardashian, Beyoncé, Kate Middleton, Kylie Jenner, and Britney Spears, also featured on the list.

Furthermore, Meghan Markle secured the eighth spot on the list of skincare regimes that garnered the most attention. The top positions on the ‘Skinspiration’ list were occupied by Rihanna, JLo, Kylie Jenner, Paris Hilton, Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Meghan Markle, Kendall Jenner, and Bella Thorne.

These studies serve as evidence of the significant influence exerted by Barbara Palvin and Meghan Markle in the fashion and beauty industry. Their strong social media presence, global recognition, and impact on popular culture position them as powerful influencers for women worldwide. As social media continues to play a crucial role in shaping consumer preferences, it is anticipated that both Palvin and Markle will maintain their status as icons in the realms of fashion and beauty.
